LCDR B. F. Kepley, DC USN

DENTAL

The Dental Department would like to take this opportunity to state that it has certainly been a pleasure serving TOPEKA and we, only wish that this service could be extended to include the ship's stay at Boston. Unfortunately this is impossible; however, there will be a dental facility available to you in the shipyard should you need it. It may have seemed difficult for some of you to receive immediate dental care at times due to the existing ratio of one dentist to almost one thousand men plus cancellations resulting from General Quarters, rough weather, etc., etc. Despite these problems we have managed to treat everyone requesting treatment within a reasonable length of time and we would hope that you will avail yourself to the continuation of this treatment whenever possible. Although the old adage that it is more pleasurable to give than receive can certainly be applied to dentistry without fear of contradiction by its victims ... er... patients, we hope your individual experiences have not been too uncomfortable.

LIKE NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS -- The regular exchange of professions is common. Here, LCDR B. F. Kepley, DC, USN, is assisted by his dental technician in performing services on Doctor Bryan.
