5. Treasurers Report as of August 12, 2005
We remain financially solvent.
The account balances are not made public.
We have prepaid most of the expenses of this reunion. We are very close
to breaking even on this reunion.
Ships store report: Linda Roberts says due to Ike Robert’s severe
cancer, Linda will ask to be replaced as the Ship’s Store Operator after
his death.
Ships Store finances are not made public, but we are solvent.
6. Old business:
Baka Hachi: $200 collected for the New Baka Hachi book has been refunded.
7. Correspondence:
A. The Navy Home Gulfport has acknowledged receipt of the $310 we sent
them last year. We will send them a check for $365 this year.
8. New Business:
A. Election of Officers: John Reynolds was reelected President and Jack
Timmons was reelected Secretary/Treasurer. It is the intention of the
Secretary/Treasurer to retire after the 2006 Reunion in San Diego. There
was some discussion as to who might be willing to take this job.
Jack Timmons discussed another reunion group that he had helped to get
started. They elected a new President and new Treasurer at their first
Reunion. The new Treasurer ran off with the funds collected for and
failed to pay the bills for their first ever reunion where well over 100
attended in Reno, Nevada. The caution is to be very sure of whom you
turn the money over to.
John Reynolds stated perhaps we need to be looking at the wives to do
this, someone with financial experience. Noting that we were so
concerned when Jack Connery retired from doing the News Letter and that
Kathy Spatz has been doing an outstanding job as his replacement.
B. Discuss the 2008 Reunion location... We intend to have the 2007 Reunion
in the Midwest, Jack Timmons at the general meeting will present (on
behalf of Cal and Joan Ladd) Minneapolis and Dan Moore will present
Indianapolis for 2007. Are we going back to the east coast again in
2008? The response is that we will be on the East Coast in 2008.
9. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM.
Sincerely,
Jack E. Timmons
Secretary/Treasurer
